Pool Party
Although the University of North Alabama students arrived last night, their campers did not arrive until early this afternoon. And what better way to get to know each other than a pool party? There isn’t one I think. It did not take very long for the students and campers to begin to play together. Upon walking up to the pool, I would have thought that everyone knew each other already. It helped that it was sunny and warm outside and the pool was cool. I was tempted on several occasions to jump in, even though I had clothes on.
The kids were swimming around, splashing one another, floating on
inner tubes or learning how to swim. The UNA students were very attentive and watched their campers closely and were always prepared to give a brief lesson on swimming. The picture to the right is of one of the students pulling her camper around the pool on her inner tube. (The UNA student in the picture to the left is LeAnne Gilbert and the camper is Trenesha  Morrell.)
All in all, it was a great afternoon at the pool. There was not a time when laughter could not be heard throughout the pool. Some of the Camp ASCCA staff even joined in. I had several of the elementary and high school students come up and introduce themselves to me and invite me into the pool. I would have gladly been one of those, but I do not have a bathing suit with me. Next time I will remember to have it.
