The Camp ASCCA Camper of the Year is chosen each year by our summer staff members. At the end of the season, they vote on a camper who they see as memorable and has shown qualities that embody a great summer camp experience!
Camper Mark Carlo is one of those campers. Mark has attended Camp ASCCA for many years. Mark enjoys many of the camping session Camp ASCCA offers and always has a big smile on his face! He attends a summer camp session, the Fall Weekend, and then usually comes back for Christmas Weekend.
After being presented with a “Camper of the Year” plaque, Camp Director Matt Rickman told Mark that he would be attending Camp ASCCA’s Christmas Weekend free of charge as a gift for being named Camper of the Year. Mark, along with his parents Jim and Kay, were thrilled!
Mark and his family were joined Friday, November 1, 2013 at a restaurant in Birmingham by 19 Camp ASCCA staff members. They were excited to see so many summer and full-time Camp ASCCA staff members in attendance. Matt Rickman noted that Mark’s parents couldn’t believe so many summer staff members came to the special dinner. Matt’s reply was, “of course, they all love Mark!”
