2017 Program Staff Training Begins!

It is safe to say the summer is on its way. Program staff training for Summer 2017 has officially begun, and members of this year’s adventure, aquatics and farm staffs arrived this morning for the summer of a lifetime. As Camp Director Matt Rickman says, “This will be the greatest summer of your life.”

The first meeting of the day was held in Davis Cabin where the program staff will be housed over the next five weeks. Camp Director Matt Rickman and fellow full-time staff members met with the summer’s program staff for introductions, and Matt went over ASCCA policies and procedures with the staff.

Over the next three days, each staff will rotate through all of their respective activities and learn the ins and outs of properly running each program throughout the summer. There is a lot more to each program than one would think, so each staff member is paying close attention to all of the steps and procedures needed to ensure safety and lots of fun for our campers.

We also have a PR intern, Jasmine Reed, joining us early this summer from Auburn University, and she will be working with us over a ten-week period providing blogs, pictures, videos, and much more. As the summer continues to speed up, we will have a few more PR interns joining us as well and the ASCCA counselors will arrive next month.

The program staff will not only be working with our ASCCA sessions but is also in charge of running programs for a few camps in June like, Camp Seale Harris, Hope Heals, and MDA Camp. Keep up with our 2017 Program Staff and their training this week on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and right here on our website!
