Prom night was a blast! The night started out with prom date photos and a fancy dinner in the dining hall and patio. Every counselor and camper lined up to get their photograph taken with their date(s). After their picture was taken, they were escorted into the dining hall and were able to start getting ready for dinner. Plates of chicken cordon bleu, green beans, and rice were served by Food Services Director Enis Higgs, the rest of the kitchen staff, and program staff. After dinner, everyone was sent out onto the patio so that program staff could get the dining hall ready for the dance!
The lights went down and the energy went up! Campers grabbed their first dance partner and hit the dance floor. DJ Cody played top hits and throwbacks in order to keep the crowd happy and moving. Campers typically changed dance partners every few songs in order to dance with all of the people that they created strong bonds with this week.
Campers and counselors took a break from dancing at our snack bar and at the photo booth where a multitude of props were provided. This is where the sweetest and funniest pictures of the night were taken! Everyone grabbed their favorite people of the week and took pictures with each other!
Towards the end of the dance, the king and queen were crown. The 2016 king Jeffery Lewis and queen Katlyn Miller were taken out to the middle of the dance floor to crown the 2017 king and queen. The 2017 king is Daniel (Dani) Gonsalves and the queen is Kelsi Moore!
