The 2012 Fun Fish weekend held the 23-25 of March was a huge success. We had 32 anglers with disabilities join us for a picture perfect weekend of fishing fun. The weekend was graced with beautiful weather and full of excitement and good times.
This year’s motto of Eat, Sleep, Fish went right along with the activities of the weekend. Friday night after dinner the anglers and counselors got to know each other with some fun games and trivia. Then it was off to bed because it was an early roll call to get breakfast and out on the water by 8 with our volunteer boaters. We fished all morning, had lunch and a quick nap, then it was back to catching more fish in the afternoon. Dinner ended with a dance and early bed time. Back up early the next morning to catch those last fish before the Banquet Lunch and the Awards Ceremony. When all the fish were counted, Mr. CC Perry walked away with the big prize of Most Fish Caught!
This weekend would not have been a success without all the wonderful boaters and volunteer counselors, and the support of the sponsors. As one of the major sponsors for the weekend, the Civitan Club also joined in on the fun Saturday by helping on the dock. Thank you all SO much for your hard work and dedication to making this weekend so successful!
