7th grader visits with surprise donation!

Young Sutton Smith made a surprise visit to Camp ASCCA this afternoon! Who is Sutton you say?

Well she first visited Camp ASCCA last fall with her 6th grade class to participate in an Environmental Education day camp. See more about that day camp here.

Sutton said she absolutely fell in love with Camp ASCCA and came up with a way to raise money for a campership for a child wishing to attend summer camp who couldn’t afford the full fee.

Sutton made many sets of note cards featuring the beautiful floral artwork made by her grandfather. She packaged the sets in attractive bags and sold many to her friends, family, and other acquaintances. She wanted to honor her grandfather and put the profits to good use and help others.

Way to go Sutton, you are a great example of what we all should strive to be! Sutton is pictured making her $528 donation to Camp Director, Matt Rickman.

(According to Sutton, more money is set to still come in!)
