One of the best parts of Camp ASCCA is the incredible people who make it so special. This summer, we’re thrilled to have Nicolas (aka Nico!), a member of our international staff, sharing his energy and joy with campers. Hailing all the way from Colombia, Nico has jumped into camp life with enthusiasm, proving that fun and friendship know no borders.

Back home in Bogotá, Nico enjoys traveling and exploring more of his heritage. This summer is Nico’s first time being in America, so we asked him what’s his favorite thing about being in a new country. He immediately responded, “the people.” When it comes to Camp ASCCA specifically, Nico said, “everyone here is kind.”

Nico loves everything about his American camp experience, from the excitement of activities like the bungee trampoline to the magic of late-night concerts. Nico’s favorite thing to do at Camp is “interact with the campers” and he admits he’s never been anywhere like ASCCA before. When he’s not cheering on campers or participating in games, Nico enjoys sharing bits of his culture, whether it’s teaching Spanish phrases or talking about Colombia’s beautiful landscapes.
We’re so grateful to have Nico as part of our summer family. His kindness, humor, and adventurous spirit make camp even brighter. ¡Gracias, Nico!
