A Heartfelt Journey at Camp ASCCA: Introducing Emily

Introducing one of our Unit Leaders, Emily. Emily is from Chelsea, AL, and just graduated Auburn University. She plans to further her education at the University of South Alabama for Occupational Therapy School. Emily has been a part of Camp ASCCA for four years. During this time, she has spent two years as a counselor, one year on the adventure program staff, and this year, she is a Unit Leader.

Emily learned about camp through our program director, Amber Cotney, who gave a presentation at Auburn University for the Human Development and Family Science Professional Club. After attending the presentation, Emily thought working at Camp ASCCA would be an amazing opportunity, so she applied for a counselor position the following summer.

After her first summer, she fell in love with the atmosphere at Camp. Emily returns to Camp ASCCA because she enjoys seeing familiar campers and building strong relationships with them. For her, developing these bonds is the favorite part of the camp experience.

We are excited to see Emily take on her new role as a Unit Leader this summer and look forward to watching her grow in this position. It is safe to say that we are thrilled Emily continues to be a part of our life-changing community at Camp ASCCA.
