This past weekend marked the second of Camp ASCCA’s Family Deer Hunts for the winter. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, everyone still had a great time. Hunters with disabilities and their families enjoyed a weekend full of shooting activities and hunting.
Each hunter, teamed with a guide, went through a quick hunter’s safety and gun safety refresher Friday Night. Saturday Morning was devoted to the shooting competition, and then the afternoon saw the hunters and guides headed out into the woods for the first hunting session. The rain held off just long enough for us to get in one more hunting session Sunday Morning before washing out the afternoon hunt.
Even though Mother Nature put a stop to hunting on Sunday, the Hunters still had a great attitude and are looking forward to next winter!!!! Check out more photos from the weekend on our Flickr page. A big THANKS to some of our sponsors for the weekend: Zachry Construction, Sure Shot, and Academy Sports and Outdoors.
