A Long Time Camper’s ASCCA Tribute

By Megan Wright
Session 6

Acts always vary when it comes to the Tuesday night talent show, but this week we had a very special act to start off the night. One of our campers here this week has been coming to Camp ASCCA for 28 years now- since he was 5 years old. In programs or at meals, you can always count on him to tell you about his day, his past experiences, his favorite programs, or just answer anything you ask him.

This special camper made and presented a poster to our camp director, Matt Rickman tonight. On the poster it detailed his life from birth to present and had tons of pictures of him at Camp ASCCA on it. He also made sure to thank Matt and Easter Seals for their continued support of him, saying he loves this place.

This presentation was extremely touching to see and hear, and makes it all the more obvious how special our campers are and just how special Camp ASCCA is for them. We make such great connections with our campers here and love to see them come back time and time again. Hopefully there will be more campers like Matt in the future and, as always, we’re so happy to have him with us at camp.
