A Week of Leadership at Camp ASCCA

This week at Camp ASCCA we were joined by members of Junior Leadership Lake Martin and Leadership Lake Martin. These programs are intended to develop leaders and ensure they have the necessary training for circumstances that may arise. Throughout their time in these programs, participants gain a broader understanding and awareness of the problems, opportunities, and resources in the Lake Martin Area.

The Junior Leadership participants were at Camp ASCCA for only a day, September 24th. During their day at ASCCA, they learned what makes a good leader, how different personalities make up not only their group, but everyday life, and the importance of working together as a team. They played multiple team-building games and debriefed the best strategies, the meaning behind them, and the necessity of not only leading but listening as well. They finished off their day by conquering our ziptower!

Participants in Leadership Lake Martin spent a bit more time at Camp ASCCA. They were on our campus on September 24-25th. During their time here, they had multiple leadership classes, exercises, projects, and teambuilding games.

The mission of Leadership Lake Martin is to create an active network of informed, committed, qualified, and concerned citizens to guide the future of the Lake Martin area and improve the quality of life. Leadership Lake Martin is a ten-month leadership training program designed to inform, inspire, and empower community leaders throughout the Lake Martin area.

It is always a pleasure to welcome Junior Leadership and Leadership Lake Martin to Camp ASCCA. We love meeting and building new relationships with the participants and staff members. Here’s to great leaders!
