Two years ago, I had a very unique experience with speaking for an event in Atmore. The Atmore Rotary Club sponsors an event called the Academic All Stars. Several high school students from each school in the area are chosen for academic excellence to be honored in this ceremony. Atmore Rotary also provides scholarships to several seniors to continue their education.
This year, I was invited back to be the speaker for this incredible occasion on May 12th. The ceremony is held at the First Baptist Church in Atmore and each year I’ve attended, the church has been overflowing with students, parents, teachers and families. Over one hundred students were honored this year. This kind of opportunity gives me a chance to let young people know about Camp ASCCA, many of which show interest in working for camp in the summers ahead.
