Adaptive Water Skiing

Session 3
Sports Camp

Today was the day most of our campers had been waiting for all week—sit skiing, or adaptive water skiing. Some bad weather Tuesday afternoon pushed the activity until this morning, but it was well worth the wait. All of our Sports Campers successfully skied around the lake, and some even looked like professionals!

Adaptive water skiing is done on a board similar in size to a wake board, but shaped like a ski. On top of the board sits a “cage” that you sit in that houses your hips and lower back. The skier can chose to either hold the rope or, if that’s not possible, the rope can be secured into a block mounted on the ski. All of the campers at least tried holding the handle bars, and most successfully!

Make sure to check our pictures for some fantastic photos from this morning’s activity.
