Last weekend, the Alabama District Pilot International hosted the sixth annual Pilot TBI Camp right here at Camp ASCCA. This weekend camp is held every year in hopes of offering an unforgettable getaway and new opportunities for individuals who are living with a traumatic brain injury. According to the Alabama District website, “PILOT International is a community based volunteer service organization, founded in 1921 in Macon, GA, on the guiding principles of “Friendship and Service” through charitable projects, community service, education and research.”
Alabama District Pilots present check to Camp ASCCA
Everyone in attendance enjoyed programs like zipline, canoeing, fishing and much more. In the evenings, campers, families and volunteers also enjoyed a talent show and a dance. While here, the Alabama District Pilots also presented Camp with a $7,000 donation in support of our adventure program. The check was presented to Adventure Program Specialist Jacob Boyer, and he was also the leader of the weekend. When asked about their experience, the Pilots shared, “Thank you to Camp ASCCA for helping us make our sixth annual TBI camp the BEST EVER! Boyer was just wonderful to all of us. He was there with answers for all our needs. His staff he had working with him were wonderful too!”
The Alabama District Pilots are devoted to Camp ASCCA throughout the year and continue to offer support to our campers through camperships and opportunitie of program advancement. We would like to say thank you to the Pilots for staying involved and believing in what we do!
