On September 25, 2010, the Alabama Elks Association began a new partnership with Camp ASCCA with a $50,000 donation to support camp’s activities. (At a morning meeting, the Association members voted to designate the contribution to the renovation of the Administration building).

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is one of the largest and most active fraternal organizations in the world with just under 1 million members in more than 2,000 lodges across the country.

The Alabama Elks Association has nearly 7,000 members in 27 Elks Lodges in Alabama. There are lodges in Alexander City, Anniston, Auburn-Opelika, Bessemer, Birmingham, Blocton, Cahaba valley, Calera, Childersburg, Cullman, Decatur, Dothan, Fairfield, Fairhope, Florence, Gadsden, Gulf Coast in Foley, Huntsville, Jasper, Marion County, Mobile, Pell City, Roebuck, Selma, the Shoals, Tuscaloosa, and Warrior River.

Their mission is to inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, and serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share.

The Alabama Elks Association hopes to be able to make a sizable contribution of this nature to Camp ASCCA annually.
