An End to a Wonderful Summer Part 1

We here at Camp ASCCA had a fantastic summer and we were able to provide fun and engaging programs to over 1080 campers. Our summer starts off at the end of May and runs through the middle of September where we provide week long (Sunday – Friday) camps for children and adults with all types of disabilities and/or skill levels.

I was pleased to have Kelli Hood, a former PR intern, come back as my Nature Director for the summer. She brought a level of excitement and enthusiasm to Nature that encouraged all the campers to find a love for the outdoors. Most of our campers don’t get the opportunity to learn about nature or spend time in the outdoors. By using activities such as Edible Aquifers, making there own Field Guides, building Bird Feeders, Nature Walks, Leaf Collections, and several others; Kelli encouraged them to learn new things and have new experiences. I was very lucky that Kelli wanted to spend another summer at camp.

Enjoy the Nature Slide Show from the summer and get excited about Fall Environmental Camps coming very soon. If you have a school group that would like to visit camp for an Environmental Field Trip, give me a call at 256.825.9226. I will be happy to answer any questions you have and help you customize your field trip to your class’s needs.
