This week, Camp ASCCA hosted the annual Hall Foundation camp from May 18–21, bringing together participants from the Dothan and Muscle Shoals Therapeutic Recreation Centers, students from the University of North Alabama, and Camp ASCCA staff members.
Campers arrived Monday afternoon excited for a fun-filled week and a reunion with familiar faces. We kicked things off with a camp-wide ice cream and pool party, where campers completed swim tests before enjoying the evening together.

Tuesday marked the official start of activities, with program rotations including tubing, boat rides on beautiful Lake Martin, ziplining, and archery. That afternoon, campers enjoyed free-choice activities like the demo farm, swimming, the waterslide, karaoke with shaved ice, the game room, and pickleball. We ended the day with a camp favorite: the talent show, featuring lots of singing and dancing.

Wednesday brought even more excitement with more tubing, zipline, archery, and boat rides. After lunch, campers visited the ASCCA T-shirt room for new merch. That afternoon, campers had the opportunity to choose from various free-choice activities like the pool, splash pad, bungee trampoline, and a nature project. We ended the night with a dance party at the BcK4T.
Thursday came far too quickly as we shared one final meal before saying goodbye. Though the week flew by, the memories made will last a lifetime.

We look forward to hosting the Hall Foundation each year, and this year was no exception. Thank you to our campers, staff, and UNA students for creating such a positive atmosphere and unforgettable week.
This incredible week was made possible through the generosity of the Charles and Isabel Hall Foundation. Since beginning their support in 2000, they have contributed more than $115,000 to Camp ASCCA since 2016 alone. Because of organizations like theirs, Camp ASCCA has continued serving individuals with disabilities for 50 years. We are forever grateful for their support.
