ARPA Groups Visit for Fall Camporee

On Friday, groups from around the state of Alabama arrived for the ARPA Fall Camporee weekend. Every year, different Parks and Recreation teams bring their therapeutic recreation groups to Camp ASCCA for a fun weekend in the woods. This year we were visited by groups from Montgomery, Dothan, Muscle Shoals, Anniston, and Hoover.

The ASCCA team prepared a great weekend of excitement with different program rotations at the splash pad, water slide, zipline, and MORE. Not to mention the weekend began with a Friday night dance, and the ARPA campers came ready to groove.

Throughout the weekend, there was also a lot of attention given to college football and keeping up with the scores of the Alabama and Auburn games. At dinner on Saturday, chants were heard through the dining hall as campers cheered for their favorite teams.

A weekend at camp would not be complete without an evening talent show, so following dinner and a bit of college football, everyone headed to Lions Lodge for the final program of the day. From Britney Spears performances to group skits, the ARPA talent show lineup was unforgettable.

On Sunday morning, we could not let everyone leave without a couple more rotations of camp programs, so after breakfast, each group headed out for more activities before the ride home. It was a weekend to remember with the ARPA groups, and we look forward to next year.

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
