ASCCA on the Road visits Clay County

ASCCA on the Road is a new opportunity for potential campers and their families to learn more about Camp ASCCA and everything it has to offer. ASCCA staff members are traveling to various locations across the Southeast to meet families that could benefit from Camp ASCCA and encourage them to check out camp and visit for a weekend event or perhaps a week during the summer. Many people do not realize that a place like Camp ASCCA exists, so we decided it was time to bring Camp to them.

We took our first trip to Robertsdale, AL on October 11th and visited Clay County, AL this week. The Central High School of Clay County welcomed us yesterday to speak with their special education program and the parents of their students. Initially parents were reluctant to consider sending their children to camp because many of them have not spent time apart their entire lives. However, once the ASCCA team began to share with parents our goal of incomparable fun, comfort, safety, and new experiences, many parents immediately began to open up and share their stories and wanted to learn more about camp.

As the ASCCA on the Road trips continue, we are looking forward to visiting schools, organizations, and clubs across the state to share more about what camp has to offer.
