Last night was our 3rd annual ASCCApalooza. Many of our campers do not have the opportunity to attend concerts in their free time. So, we brought concerts to them! There are so many beautiful stage areas at camp, and palooza is the perfect way for campers to enjoy them! We started our music festival this afternoon in the BCK4T with performances by The Little Raine Band and Taylor Hunnicutt.
This year is the first time we have been able to use the BCK4T during palooza, and it was awesome for campers to enjoy snacks, some tunes, while out of the hot sun. The Little Raine Band kicked off our festival in the BCK4T. This Birmingham-based, somewhere between jazz and psychedelia group, was the perfect way to start the evening. With their fresh beats and blues tones, they set the mood for the rest of the show. Next, another Birmingham native performer, Taylor Hunnicutt, made her way to the stage. Taylor’s unique sound combination of Blues, Soul, Country, and Americana got the crowd on their feet!
After our two concerts in the BCK4T, everyone headed to the dining hall for a brief dinner intermission! Our festival finale after dinner featured Winston Ramble at our Big Stage. Winston Ramble is based in Muscle Shoals, and currently on tour around the Southeast. The band’s folk-rock sound could be heard all around camp as it blared through the speakers. The atmosphere was joyful and vivacious as the audience danced their way through the night!
ASCCApalooza 2019 was as marvelous as one could hope. The weather was perfect and made for a beautiful night to watch the sunset on the lake. We are so thankful for all of our performers, and would like to give them a big Camp ASCCA thank you! Last night was the perfect way to end our week!
