Earlier this week, Camp Administrator John Stephenson and Director of Marketing Communications Dana Rickman traveled across Central Alabama for a couple United Way kickoff events. As a United Way agency, Camp ASCCA receives annual support from River Region United Way and Lake Martin Area United Way that helps individuals with disabilities attend summer camp.
Tuesday morning, John and Dana visited the River Region United Way for its kickoff event, and Lynn Beshear, Commissioner of the Alabama Dept. of Mental Health, was the featured speaker. The RRUW annually raises over $4 million for 40 member agencies. They specifically serve Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes, Macon and Montgomery Counties.
Later Tuesday evening, John and Dana attended the kickoff event for the Lake Martin Area United Way. Agencies were expected to setup a display featuring information and photos of their organization and to talk with members of the community. This year’s campaign total for LMAUW is $535,000, and they were able to reach 15% of the goal at the kickoff event thanks to River Bank & Trust, who submitted their totals as the campaign’s Pacesetter organization. The LMAUW specifically serves Tallapoosa and Coosa Counties.
Last week, River Bank & Trust had the opportunity to hear from Social Media Specialist Kasey Langley, and the company’s staff viewed a few videos featuring the exciting things that happened at Camp ASCCA this summer. We love having the opportunity to share with our supporters from our local United Way, and we thank them for their continued support for the opportunities we offer to the incredible people we serve each year!
