The weekend we’ve all been waiting for has finally come! Camp ASCCA’s Christmas weekend, is an event that everyone was looking forward to. With Camp not being in session this past summer it had us missing our people a little too much, but alas we were all reunited Friday afternoon.
Friday began our Christmas weekend check in began at 4. We made sure to check everyone’s temperature, wear masks, social distance, and wash our hands frequently. Our night began with dinner and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. W then made our way to the Outpost for hot cocoa and cookies. There was a movie playing on the big screen and a fire outside to keep everyone warm.
Saturday was the big day Jingle Jump was finally here. After breakfast campers and their family had a couple hours to choose from five free choice activities. Their options were Zipline, Arts and Crafts, Nature, Putt Putt, and Archery.
After lunch we had the big event. JINGLE JUMP!! Everyone raised a total of $29,300 for our Campership Fund! All those who raised money had to take a plunge into the cold pool. The pool was a chilly 45 degrees. The Grinch even made a guest appearance!
We finished the afternoon with a few Minute to Win it games. The games got everyone involved, campers and family! They were super fun and extremely interactive.
We ended the night with a concert with the one and only Red Clay Strays! They are one of Camp ASCCA’s favorite bands and always put on a great show. The music had everyone on their feet dancing the whole night. During the concert we had another guest appearance from The Grinch, and even Santa, a snowman, and Rudolph! The night was filled with lots of laughter and smiles.
This truly was the best weekend. It was so nice to finally be reunited with our people and have them back at Camp!
