Camp ASCCA supporters receive recognition at Easterseals Alabama Annual Awards Luncheon

At the Easterseals Alabama Annual Awards Luncheon, individuals and organizations are recognized for their continued support of the many Easterseals facilities across the state. Yesterday, Administrator John Stephenson and Director of Marketing/Communications Dana Rickman traveled to Montgomery for the event to show appreciation for the individuals who received special recognition and have supported Camp ASCCA for many years.

Each Easterseals facility has the opportunity to nominate individuals and organizations who have continuously been involved and dedicated to working towards a greater cause. This year, several awards were given out to individuals and clubs that have shown support to Camp ASCCA for more than a decade. The 2017 award recipients included ASCCA supporters Richard Bollinger, Peggy Long, the Demopolis Rotary Club, and the Robertsdale Rotary Club. Each of these recipients have played integral parts at Camp ASCCA for more than 15 years, and we cannot thank them enough for their continued support. You can learn more about this year’s recipients below.

Peggy Long

Peggy Long received a Gold Award after almost a decade of service to Camp ASCCA. Peggy is currently serving her second three-year term as a Camp ASCCA Board member, and for many years, Peggy served as the camp nurse and a volunteer nurse for a variety of groups. She has been a faithful donor to the Endowment Fund, and continues to show her support by participating in our annual Jingle Jump fundraiser.

Richard Bollinger also received a Gold Award as a current Easterseals Alabama Board member and had previously served as Board Chair for Camp ASCCA. Richard has been an advocate for Camp ASCCA for more than 17 years and continues to show his support by being a member of the Camp ASCCA Advisory Board. He plays a big role in his community through Easterseals Alabama, Camp ASCCA, and his service in Montgomery’s City Council.

The Demopolis Rotary Club received a Special Appreciation Award in recognition of their donations made for more than 10 years to the ASCCA Campership Fund. Each year, the club hosts an annual golf event that helps raise money to support our campers that are in need of financial assistance.

Finally, the Robertsdale Rotary Club was recognized as Club of the Year after setting a record donation this year of 12 full camperships and 10 partial camperships for campers from the Robertsdale/Mobile area. They have provided numerous camperships over the past two years, but this was the biggest year yet!

Join us as we thank each of these award recipients for their continued support of everything we do here at Camp ASCCA! You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for all of your camp news and updates.
