Today was the start of a brand new adventure for me in a very familiar location. As the new Social Media Specialist here at Camp ASCCA, I will be responsible for providing you guys with fun, enjoyable content and updates year-round on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, the Camp ASCCA website, Youtube, and Flickr.
A few years ago, during my time as a student at Auburn University, I spent several of my summers at Camp ASCCA as a counselor and a Public Relations intern, and I often found myself coming back every chance that I had. As a student at Auburn with a focus in Media Studies, I dreamed of the moment I would get to use my passion for people and my love for media to share the stories of every person that crossed my path. When people asked me what my dream job would be, I always mentioned the hope to one day work at Camp ASCCA and share the stories of everyone that makes this place so great. Then the opportunity of my dreams came about! I am so happy and thankful to have been blessed with this opportunity to pursue the things that I am passionate about in the place that I love.
I grew up in Northeast Alabama in a small town known as Sardis, and I attended Gadsden City High School. Go Titans! As I mentioned earlier, I am a 2015 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies. War Eagle! As a student at Auburn, I spent my time getting my hands on everything media related that I could. I have had an incredible support system from my family, friends, and professors, who have all helped me land a variety of radio and television opportunities over the years with Auburn’s WEGL 91.1 FM, Eagle Eye TV, WHNT News 19, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, and SEC Network.
If you could not tell by that list, I am quite the sports fan and am passionate about the stories that athletes have to share on and off the court. Watching those stories all my life has inspired me to pursue the career path that I am on today. I have met some truly amazing people with the most impactful stories here at Camp ASCCA, and I look forward to bringing Tom Rinaldi-like work to your screens and sharing every moment with you that comes through the gates of this wonderful place.
You never really grow too old to dream, folks! I hope you will join me on the adventures ahead.
