This past Sunday Camp ASCCA had our first outing and we were finally reunited with familiar faces at the Birmingham Zoo! It was a fun-filled day and it felt so good to see all of our friends again.
We started the day with check-in and to pass time Mrs. Judy brought the pace car from Talledega Superspeedway! The campers had a chance to sit in the car and even blow the horn! We saw all the animals, complete with lions, giraffes, ostriches, birds, elephants, and more! Some campers even had the opportunity to feed the Lorikeets. All in all, it was the perfect day and it felt so nice to be reunited with many of our friends.
Sunday was a rainy day, but we still made the most of every minute, and we made sure to splash in a couple of puddles. During our lunch break, there was a big rain shower, but we managed to stay dry and even had Dipping Dots for a dessert. The trip was filled with lots of laughter, air hugs, and fist bumps.
We made sure to wear our masks, sanitize our hands often, and keep our distance from others. We could not have asked for a better day with our people!
