Today, we made our Cargo Net available as a Free Choice activity for the first time this summer! Although it was pretty hard to compete with other fun activities like pool, canoeing and hammocks at the OutPost, we still had a few campers stop by.
Just like our other various high ropes courses, the Cargo Net is a “Challenge by Choice” activity. Campers aren’t forced to climb, but are encouraged to conquer their fears and challenge themselves to accomplish a new goal. Located next to our Zip Line activity, the Cargo Net is securely hooked to two adjacent trees. In order to participate, the campers is required to put on all neccessary safety equipment and is then hooked up to a rope that’s pulled by a trained Adventure Program Staff member.
From there, the camper climbs up the cargo net as far as they can, with fellow campers and counselors cheering them on along the way! Once they’ve reached their climbing goal, they let go of the cargo net and sit back in their harness as the Adventure Progam Staff member lowers them back to the ground.
As we continue to make this activity available throuhgout the summer, we’re looking forward to witnessing campers conquer fears and accomplish new goals. For more Session 4 fun, stay tuned to Flickr,Facebook, Twitter,Instagram and right here on our website!
