At the regular meeting of the Alexander City Civitan Club this week, Civitan Jerry Burnette presented Dana Rickman with funds raised from the Alabama Central District of Civitan International.
Mr. Burnette is the Camp ASCCA liasion for the District and presented over $1,700 in contributions raised at the April 13, 2013 District Conference. The money is raised annually through a “Basket Auction” at the conference. Each club and/or members are responsible for putting together baskets of gift items, certificates, food, etc. Many baskets have a theme as well!
The Civitans are a very generous group. Members from the District also visited Camp ASCCA in March to help with clean-up and Fun Fish Weekend. See the story here.
