Each summer, Camp ASCCA recognizes one outstanding staff member with the Judy Williams Scholarship Award. Selected by our leadership team, this honor includes a $500 scholarship and celebrates someone whose dedication, positivity, enthusiasm, and work ethic have made a meaningful impact throughout the summer.
The award is named in honor of Judy Williams, whose connection to Camp ASCCA dates back to its founding in 1976. As a longtime donor, volunteer, former staff member, and friend of camp, Judy has spent decades investing in our mission. The scholarship was created in 2014 to recognize staff members who reflect the same commitment, compassion, and servant-hearted spirit she has shown over the years.
This summer, we are honored to present the Judy Williams Scholarship Award to Dylan Hyland.
Although this was Dylan’s first summer at Camp ASCCA, he quickly became an invaluable member of our team. His patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication to our campers were evident every day. He approached each challenge with compassion and consistently put the needs of others before his own.
Dylan did much more than fulfill the responsibilities of a counselor. He built relationships, encouraged campers to step outside their comfort zones, and helped create an environment where everyone felt welcomed, supported, and valued. His influence has left a lasting mark on our camp community, and we are incredibly grateful for the care and heart he brought to Camp ASCCA this summer.
Dylan now joins an inspiring group of past Judy Williams Scholarship recipients, including Gordon Warner, Brett Gray, Christian Thomason, Matt Smith, Lance Chayka, Zach Rickman, Bryce Perrien, Elizabeth Bryson, Emily Lamberson, Jackson Blount, and Kayana Luke.
