We have had a spooktacular weekend full of program rotations, costume contests, and old and new friendships. Last night campers and staff arrived to dinner wearing their best and favorite costumes for the annual costume contest and dance.
We saw every costume you could think of from, Taco Man, Taco Woman, Mister Pink, Darth Vader, and many more. As the anticipation grew for an announcement of the contest winners, we brought everyone into the dining hall for a night of dancing with their friends and taking silly pictures in the photo booth.
Following last night’s festivities, everyone woke up today pumped up and ready to rock the final day of Fall Family Weekend. This morning everyone was looking forward to their hot cup of coffee and delicious breakfast before starting the day. By the time breakfast was over, campers were ready to head to the pavilion to connect with their groups and head to their final activities. Similar to yesterday, groups visited activities like archery, fishing, zip-line, and more.
By lunchtime it was time to go, and many of our campers and staff were not quite ready for the weekend to end. We gathered together one last time for a tasty lunch and some NFL football before parents arrived. At lunch the final love notes were read and the last hugs were given, but I could not help but smile to know that this weekend’s memories will last a lifetime.
As we say our goodbyes, it is more of a see you later because to many of our campers and staff, Camp ASCCA is our home away from home. With Christmas Weekend already in our sights, we will see each other again very soon.
