Sarah Smyth is a first time counselor at Camp ASCCA this summer. She is from Madison and currently attends Auburn University. Sarah is a senior studying rehabilitation & disability studies and spanish. Sarah’s mom is an occupational therapist, so Sarah would go to work with her and she loved it. When she graduates, Sarah wants to be a bilingual therapist and travel.
Sarah had worked at a camp similar to ours when she was in high school and has been wanting to gain another camp experience. She is usually busy during the summer, but since she was free Sarah searched online for a camp and found Camp ASCCA. Since she’s been at camp, Sarah has got to bond with seven awesome campers. It may be cliché to say, but Sarah says from her experience so far, her campers have taught her to “appreciate the little things, live life to the fullest and never be too scared to try anything.” Sarah’s favorite thing about camp is the ASCCA achievements- the campers work hard and try new things and when they win those awards they are so excited and have the biggest smiles on their faces. With a few more weeks left Sarah is excited for what her future campers will teach her and for the relationships and memories she will gain.
Sarah is doing a GREAT job in her first summer!
