Diving Into SCUBA

By Jackie Popper
Session 3

This morning Sports Camp kicked things off with a splash at the pool. This was no ordinary morning at the pool; however, this morning our sports campers were given the opportunity to SCUBA in the pool. One of our Board Members, Tom Mann, from Adventure Sports II provided this experience for our campers. He joined us this morning to educate Sports Campers on what SCUBA is and gave the campers the chance to experience it! Every camper got the opportunity to put on an air tank and regulator and swim and breathe under water. For a lot of our campers this was their first time experiencing such a unique sensation.

Unfortunately, a little bad weather prevented us from sit-skiing this afternoon; so instead, we had another rousing game of basketball in our Pavilion. For this game we even got some of our staff (including Camp Director, Matt Rickman) to join in. Though the sky was gloomy our campers weren’t!

Tomorrow, weather permitting, we hope to hop behind the boat and make up for our missed sit-skiing today. Make sure to check out our pictures on Flickr!
