Donor Spotlight: The Charron Family Outreach Foundation

Since 2021, Camp ASCCA has benefited from the Charron Family Outreach Foundation’s generosity. The Foundation has played a key role in creating new buildings and program areas. After initial undesignated capital gifts, the new Boathouse was constructed with a beautiful new concrete surround using their 2022 donations. They also enlisted Juneau Construction of Atlanta and several other construction companies to assist with the project.

Next, they helped with Camp projects throughout 2023, including land improvements, the purchase of maintenance equipment, road development for Frith Landing (the parent campground), and the BcK4T addition. In 2024, the Charrons sponsored the Charron Family Outreach Foundation Cabin at Frith Landing. Additionally, they helped fund the Pickleball sports court area. By the end of 2025, the family continued their support with gifts for the Dining Hall renovations and site preparation for the new maintenance building structure. Dan Charron has also personally stepped in many times to work on these projects.

The Charrons do not seek much recognition and simply enjoy helping others. According to Susan Charron, “Less is more for us. All of your activities and the smiles in Camp pictures are what make us who we are. The families enjoying the cabin and the kids enjoying the Boathouse—that’s the best!” The cabins she refers to are at Frith Landing, where they sponsored one. The first camper families stayed in the Charron Cabin during the summer of 2025. Camp ASCCA looks forward to many more years of a great relationship with the Charron family and recognizes them as an integral part of the Camp’s present and future!
