Andrew Calloway, a dedicated participant with the Alabama Head Injury Foundation, has been a familiar face at Camp ASCCA since the early nineties. His long-standing connection with Camp and our staff is a testament to his commitment.
At ASCCA, we strive to encourage everyone to immerse themselves in all our activities. Every aspect of the camp is designed with our campers’ needs in mind, featuring top-notch equipment, rigorous safety measures, and a highly trained staff.
Today was a particularly exciting day for Andrew as he took on the challenge of our zipline! Although he’s been coming to camp for years, it had been some time since he last tried the zipline. With enthusiastic support and cheers from both staff and fellow campers, Andrew was the first to be harnessed and belayed to the top.
As the “3, 2, 1” countdown reached zero, Andrew embraced the ride with a beaming smile, outstretched arms, and notable joy. There’s even talk that he might be ready to take on our Ziptower next!
We are incredibly proud of Andrew for overcoming his fears and taking on this new adventure. What a fantastic way to kick off our Monday—he truly is an inspiration!
