Hey counselors and friends! With it being November, it’s time to give thanks. There is a lot to be thankful for at Camp ASCCA.
This summer especially we had many things to give thanks for. Thank you, Little Italy Pizzeria from Auburn, AL. They came out to camp weekly this summer for a pizza class. During the class, you each got a ball of dough, they taught you how to knead, roll, and toss it like the professionals. A couple of campers from each table got the chance to make a pizza for everyone. You picked the toppings and assembled it yourself. If you’re in Auburn you should try to visit Little Italy and thank them for visiting Camp ASCCA!
Robertsdale and Mobile Rotary Club is another thing for which to be thankful. They send campers to Camp ASCCA every year! Thanks to the Mobile Rotary Club, I am being sponsored in 2025. If you want to help sponsor campers for a week at Camp ASCCA, you can click here and donate to our annual Jingle Jump fundraiser.
The ASCCA Concert Series for Summer 2024 included Adam Hood, Red Clay Strays, Taylor Hunnicutt, Sam Burchfield, John Hollier, and Sam Morrow. The concerts are yet another reason to be thankful. They’re held in the BcK4T and we’re served slushies and popcorn! At the end of every concert, we took a group picture with the band and then held hands and sang the Goodnight Song.
Lastly, I want to thank Frogeye Farms! They lend animals to Camp ASCCA every year for our Demo Farm. We enjoyed the goats, chickens, rabbits, cows, sheep, and pig.
