Hey counselors and friends, happy 2025! January is the busiest time of the year for cold and flu season. When you attend Camp ASCCA throughout the year, staff always checks your temperature upon arrival. During check-in, the nurses will ask questions like, “Have you been sick within the last two weeks before Camp?”
The staff always keep Camp ASCCA clean. The cabin bathrooms are cleaned throughout the week, the mattresses are disinfected, and the floors are mopped at the end of every session. At night, once the campers settle into bed, the showers get cleaned. The next morning, dirty laundry and towels get dropped off at the laundry room to be washed. On Fridays, all leftover linens are taken to the laundry room to get washed before the next session begins. Around camp also gets cleaned. After every meal in the Dining Hall, we wipe down our tables and make sure all of the trash gets thrown away. On Friday mornings, we help stack chairs on the tables so that the floors can get a good clean. During check-out, the program staff collects all the garbage, takes it out, and cleans around camp.
Soon the 49th summer at the absolute best summer camp in the Alabama will begin, but until then, they are hiring staff for summer 2025! They are hiring counselors, program staff, PR interns, and CITs. The counselors will care for the campers, and program staff will run the activities and assist with campers. PR interns will take pictures and videos, write blogs, and share on social media what is happening at Camp ASCCA. CITs (ages 15-17) will be paired with a counselor and will help with the workload and camper supervision.
The dates for program staff are May 27-August 1st, and for counselors, PR interns, and nurses are June 10-August 1st. Applications are online, you can apply by clicking here or find more information about the positions here.
