Hey counselors and friends! I started attending Camp ASCCA in 1988, I was in elementary school and didn’t know what to expect going into my first summer. I’m going to share with you what you can expect during your week at Camp ASCCA this summer.
All campers are assigned to a counselor and they always stay with you. When moving from activities you always stay on the sidewalk or marked path to keep you safe. Though you can’t have your cell phone at camp, parents/friends/etc. can email you at campermail@campascca.org and they’ll get delivered to you!

Every day you have activities to participate in like the zipline, tubing, archery, and more. After breakfast, everyone gathers in the pavilion and lines up with your group number, and then the program staff will escort you to the activity. The program staff will go over the rules to keep you safe. At the demo farm, you stay seated at all times and must wash your hands after petting and feeding the animals. In adventure activities, you wear a helmet and the appropriate harnesses, and in water activities, you must wear a lifejacket or pass a swim test.
One of my favorite camp memories is getting to be around everyone for the talent show, concert, and dances. Sometimes the talent shows go long, and the ASCCA Concert Series can get loud, so you may want to pack some noise-canceling headphones, but if not, Camp ASCCA has plenty. During kid sessions, concerts are replaced with station games or other evening programs.
All your medications must be blister packed and the med passers will dispense your medications at breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and bedtime. There are also always nurses on site for emergencies.
