Hey camp counselors and friends! Camp ASCCA is getting ready for its 49th summer! I hope that you guys registered for the session that you want to attend. I chose Session 3, and the theme is America the Beautiful. Matt and Amber will review all the camper’s applications in the coming weeks, then send emails saying you are accepted for that week and send a confirmation packet. In the spring, you will complete the medical portion of the applications.
Check-in is on Sundays from 2:00-4:30 P.M. The person(s) checking the camper in must stay with the camper until the check-in process is finished. Check-out is Friday at 9:15 A.M., and they’ll need to have their photo ID ready to sign out with the nurse in the pavilion.
Before summer, they will send you a packing list, but you can also find it here. I like to pack shorts and T-shirts, tennis shoes, Chacos, and one pair of dress-up clothes for the concert. You’ll also want to pack enough toiletries like toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, body wash, and shampoo. Some campers like to bring a notebook or coloring book to keep in their counselor’s backpack. All your medications must be in a blister pack.
Don’t worry if it rains while you’re at Camp ASCCA. The program staff always knows how to keep things fun. We’ll play rainy day games in the gym with our cabins. Some games include a skit in a bag, a backpack scavenger hunt, minute-to-win-it games, and more! We’ve also done casino night and Bingo, or gone to the BcK4T, watched a movie, and played video games.
For first-time campers and parents, I have been attending Camp ASCCA since 1988! I want to welcome you guys aboard! I cannot wait for you guys to be accepted to Camp ASCCA for the first time. You will enjoy it!
