Hey counselors and friends! In the off-season, the full-time staff is doing work in the office and maintenance around Camp, including the parent campground, pickleball court, and more for the upcoming summer! Summer 2025 is almost halfway here.
Camp ASCCA Christmas weekend is coming up, and I’m doing a fundraiser for Jingle Jump on December 14th. You can donate here. All the money donated goes to our Campership Fund.
Christmas will be here soon, and Santa is coming your way. They’ve begun playing Christmas music on many radio stations until Christmas Day! Santa is getting ready to deliver toys to all the children on Christmas Eve, so be on your best behavior! You can track Santa on his route beginning Christmas Eve here. He should be arriving at the Camp ASCCA area around 9 P.M. to midnight, you’ll want to make sure you go to bed early so he has plenty of time!
This time of year, I love watching the 25 Days of Christmas on TV. It’s always filled with holiday classics like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, among others. Be sure to check your local TV listings for the schedule! Don’t forget, the A Christmas Story marathon will be airing on TBS throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day—be sure to tune in!
At Christmas time, we like to get all the ingredients for our family holiday gatherings at a grocery store like Rouses Market. Some stores have magazines online with holiday recipes to make things easier for you, check to see if your local store has something like this! We have a holiday brisket on Christmas Day, and it takes all day to cook in the smoker, so we are sure to start it on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, we cook the BBQ beans, mashed potatoes, green beans casserole, and rolls. While it’s all cooking, we snack on appetizers to hold us over until the food is ready.
From all of us here at Camp ASCCA, have a Merry Christmas!
