Friends of ASCCA: Life as ComedianBP!

On this blog we’re not going to talk about my disability. Enough with the “Awww that’s amazing that made me almost shed a tear.” In this blog, we’re turning it up a notch to “Holy smokes! That’s amazing we need more people like you,” so I take that back today I’m not Brandon Pinkney. Today you guys get to meet ComedianBP!

I started comedy in high school at a pep rally during homecoming week at Woodlawn High School right inside of Birmingham, Alabama. We had a group of comedians come perform at the school, and I got to go back and meet them after the show after being recommended by one of the teachers. I told them I wanted to do comedy. We shared a few jokes, and they told me they’d call my mom to get permission to put me on a show. I thought that was a BIG LIE, and was I wrong when we got the call the exact same night.

The club owner let me perform against his better judgment. He told me something in his heart said give this kid a chance. I got a standing ovation that night, lol see what I did there… because my wheelchair… never mind, excuse my corniness. So far in my career, I’ve done motivational speaking, charity work, college shows, and currently am working on my own tour. Along the way I have met all sorts of celebrities.

My goal out of all of this is to prove to everyone no matter what you are GAY, STRAIGHT, BI, RED, BLUE, YELLOW, LEGS, NO LEGS, ARMS, NO ARMS, BOY, OR GIRL WHATEVER YOU ARE, THERE IS ONLY ONE YOU, AND ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AS LONG AS YOU BELIEVE.
