From the Lake to the Pool

“From the lake to the pool, Camp ASCCA’s really cool,” is the first line of one of many fun repeat songs here at camp, and it is the perfect definition of how Session 1 has started off. Once campers arrived, they were split into two groups based on cabins after dinner and visited their evening programs.

Each group visits the pool either on Sunday night or Monday night for one of the camp favorites, POOL PARTY! Pool party is a huge hit each summer, and is often not only chosen for fun but also to keep cool when the summer sun is heating up.

Last night a very excited group visited the Pool Party made up of cabins, Moundville, Creek, Redstick, Choctaw, and Crow. Once it is time to get out and sing the Goodnight Song, no one wants to leave, but a fun night in the pool is one of the best ways to start the week.

Camper and counselor enjoy some time in the pool.

To the lake! As the program rotations started this Monday morning, the first two groups to visit tubing made it a day to remember. The beautiful Lake Martin was filled with joy as campers sang, squealed, and waved their hands in the air with every turn.

When giving out ASCCA Achievements at lunch, Aquatics Program Staff member, Abby Brown, said that she had not had so much fun at tubing in a long time. As you can see, Camp ASCCA is cool all the way from the wake of Lake Martin to the splish splash of the pool!
