On Thursday, April 20th, students, parents, and teachers from Tallassee Elementary School and Tallassee High School arrived at Camp ASCCA for a day of springtime activities. Program Director Amber Cotney created a schedule full of fun for the students to enjoy the day away from the classroom. The day was made up of rotations at the fishing pond and at the zip line.
The morning heated up quickly, so parents and teachers worked hard to make sure that the students were covered in sunscreen. The students were split into two groups and visited an activity rotation before and after lunch. Both programs were a big hit with the students, and even the teachers were ready to jump in and participate. One teacher, Jennifer Gilbert, is even an ASCCA staff alum and worked during Summer 2014 as a counselor!
The fish were biting and the zip line was flying, for a fun day at Camp ASCCA. We had a great time spending the day with the students from Tallassee and hope to see them again soon!
