As session 1 comes to a close many emotions are flooding camp. Some happy to see their family, and some not ready to leave. As part of a camp ASCCA tradition, Thrusday nights are always a special one.
Today campers had their normal activities. As it got closer to dinner campers started to get more and more anxious because tonight was the dance. Thursday nights at Camp ASCCA are a true tradition. Campers and counselors showed up dressed in their best to dinner. Tonight was also our awards ceremony where many campers recieved awards for this past week. Everyone danced the night away and many memories were made. After everyone finished dancing it was time for the slideshow. This is always a camper favorite as they get to see themselves along with their friends up on the screen enjoying pictures from all week during activites.
Another tradition here at Camp ASCCA is the Goodnight Song. It is a time where the campers and counselors all get to say goodnight to each other in a special way. I couldn’t think of any better way to end an amazing week here at Camp ASCCA. I couldn’t think of any other way I would want to spend my summer! So with that, I leave you with a verse of the song used in the slideshow tonight that has so much meaning to me and describes my week:
