Today is the day many of us at camp have not wanted to come for weeks now. It’s the last day of Camp ASCCA for the summer.
Last night and this morning have been very emotional for everyone, but instead of being sad it’s over we should all be happy for the experience. This summer I have learned not only a lot about public relations but also life, patience, acceptance and love. I could not have imagined a better way to spend my summer this year while also learning a lot for my future in public relations.
I can only hope that in my life I’ll have the opportunity to come back to camp many times and keep in touch with not only other staff members but campers I have met as well.
So as I say goodbye to the best summer in my 20 years alive I think of a Winnie the Pooh quote that was printed on this week’s schedule: “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
