Goodnight!

We have played hard today at Camp ASCCA and now it’s time to say Goodnight.

At the end of the night right before every one leaves to go to their cabins for the night we all circle up and hold hands while we sing the song that we all hold close to our hearts.

Goodnight Song

When we grow too old to dream

We’ll have you to remember.

When we grow too old to dream

Your love will live in our hearts.

So campers hold hands

And say we’ll never part.

For Camp ASCCA and all our friends

Will live within our hearts.

God gave the wisemen their wisdom

And to the poets their dreams.

To father and mother –their love for each

But He left me out so it seemed.

I wandered round broken hearted

Thinking life was an endless affair,

But when God gave me you

It was then that I knew

He had given me more than

my share.

So campers hold hands

And say we’ll never part.

For Camp ASCCA and all our friends

Will live within our hearts.

As I have mentioned before at Camp ASCCA we are more than just friends or coworkers, we are a growing FAMILY that gets bigger and bigger each week!

I hope that through these blogs and the pictures that are posted about our day to day life here at Camp, you can see that our love runs deep.

Our campers are having a BLAST this week and we are so proud of our campers accomplishments. They are experiencing the true adventure of life by catching their first fish, tubing, canoeing, going on nature hikes etc. and it is amazing to experience it with them.

I love getting to hear the campers say, “I can’t wait to tell my mom and dad that I went ziplining” or “My mom will never believe how big this leaf is (while holding an Elephant Magnolia tree leaf) will you take my picture so she can see?”

It’s not just the big ziplining adventures that make camp special, its the small things in life like leaves or going fishing that make Camp ASCCA memories last a lifetime.

I know that I will never forget what an Elephant Magnolia tree is or how big it’s leaves are after camper, Dalton Shaw told me all about them during after he got back from the nature walk this afternoon.

Thank you Camp ASCCA for the memories that we all, both staff and campers are making this summer.
