Group Talent is the Best Talent

Last night was a little different than our usual Wednesday nights that we have been having this summer at Camp. Typically on Wednesday’s after dinner we all gather at the OutPost for that week’s talent show. This week is Teen Week here at Camp, so instead of individual talent shows, the cabins all had their own talent that they performed in front of all the other cabins.

The talent show is a great way for our campers to express themselves by singing and dancing to their favorite song. Last night, the campers got their chance to combine their talents with the rest of their cabin. We saw a lot of good performances from both girl and boys cabins, but I am going to focus on the boys cabins and Davis Lodge, which houses both boys and girls. The boys cabins and Davis Lodge did an excellent job combining all members of the cabins and their individual talents.

We saw a variety of different talents last night including Crow Cabin, which incorporated song, dance, and even had two individuals playing the guitar. Davis Lodge had a fog machine, which added a nice touch to their performance. Redstick created a chant that all members of the cabin chanted at the end of their performance. The funniest performance of the night had to go to Cheaha who sang “Milkshake” while one of their counselors got milk poured all over him by the campers.

Choctaw had a very meaningful performance last night, and they even brought a few tears out of some of the audience. While the song was playing, they had campers walk up and show a sign that read what Choctaw and Camp meant to them. At the end they held up a sign that read “This is Home”. Last night was one of the best talent shows that we have had all summer, and thank you to all the cabins for making it so special.
