Campers from Houston County area schools arrived today! Our campers are from Ashford Elementary and High school as well as Rohobeth Elementary and High School. We are also fortunate to have Dr. Mike Hall’s class from University of North Alabama with us this week for some hands on learning. In addition to being a seasoned veteran at Camp ASCCA, Dr. Hall also received the Academic Affairs Faculty Award for Outstanding Service recently from UNA.
Today’s plans for water activities before supper were thwarted by a little bit of bad weather so we improvised with games in the gym and crafts in the art room. After supper the weather had moved on and we were able to have our pool party. The pool party was a great opportunity for the campers to spend some time with each other and the students from UNA. Lots of smiles were seen tonight!
Tomorrow we have tubing, horseback riding, arts & crafts, swimming and lots of other great activities planned. We will also end tomorrow with a talent show in the evening. Check back tomorrow for a full report.
