On March 3rd, the Inverness Kiwanis Club invited me to speak for the second time to offer an update about camp. Several members of this club are involved with different projects ranging from epilepsy and head injury awareness to Kiwanis’ junior club, the Key Club. Since Camp ASCCA works with all of these interests, the Inverness Kiwanis Club requested a “refresher course” on Camp!
At the end of my presentation, many members showed an interest in visiting camp one day soon. There were also glowing reports about camp from current and retired employees of Alabama Power, who remember that company’s involvement with the beginnings of camp through donation of the land Camp ASCCA is built upon. They expressed their pride of the camp their company helped launch and I enjoyed being able to offer a very special ‘thank you.’
