“It’s My Little Utopia!”

In honor of Throwback Thursday we’re spotlighting an ASCCA veteran, Victoria Dean. Victoria is our 2017 Sports and Games Director, and this is her fifth ASCCA summer. Throughout her time at Camp, she’s held several positions on Program Staff and even served as Head Counselor. However, she admits that Program Staff is her favorite!

Similar to what other Program Staff members have stated, Victoria says it gives her the opportunity to meet each camper as they visit her activities. “I like being able to interact with the campers and actually doing things with them,” she said. A few of the activities campers will get to do with Victoria include Volleyball, Tailgate Games at Splash Pad, Messy Games and more!

As a returner, Victoria has had the opportunity to watch campers grow over the years and develop life-long friendships. She explained that coming back to Camp every summer isn’t just something she does for herself, but it’s ultimately for the campers. She cherishes the moments she gets to spend with them all and likes being a special part of their summer memories!

She likens her time at Camp and its atmosphere to that of a utopia. “Not a lot of people get it, and I kind of like that,” she said. “It’s like my own little get away!” Check out the throwback video below from when Victoria was Head Counselor three summers ago, and stay tuned for more Program Staff spotlights on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and right here on our website!
