This afternoon during sign-up activities, campers and counselors headed to the demo farm with program staff employee Briana to make some slime! Campers cheered on the people mover all the way to the demo farm because most of them had never made slime before. Briana provided each camper with a bowl, spoon, gloves, 1/4 cup of glue, 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of borax, and a few drops of food coloring. Every camper was able to pick the color that they wanted their slime to be. Their choices were purple, green, blue, orange, pink, and red. The most popular within the group was purple.
After Briana poured all of the ingredients into the campers’ bowls, every camper began to stir with their spoons. Counselors were beside the campers to assist just in case campers needed it. As they stirred, the slime became thicker and thicker. If it started getting too messy or too hard to stir, then campers and counselors put on their gloves and began stirring with their hands. This was the campers’ favorite part!
The slime was finally at the right consistency so everyone began to test its stretchability. Campers were happy with the outcome and were excited to be a part of the first ever Camp ASCCA 2017 slime creation!
