Kicking off the 2025 Season -ASCCA Spring Weekend

We kicked off the 2025 ASCCA camping season over the weekend, and our annual Spring Weekend — formerly Fun Fish — was the perfect way to begin all the excitement this year has in store. After what felt like forever, our campgrounds were finally filled with our campers once again! We were greeted by many familiar faces and a few new ones, all eager for the joys the weekend would bring.

Our campers, families, and staff arrived Friday afternoon, luggage in tow, ready to make memories that will last a lifetime. Campers settled into their cabins and got acquainted with their counselors and bunkmates before heading to the dining hall for dinner. Afterward, we made our way to the BcK4T to welcome Grady Spencer & The Work back to Camp ASCCA!

This was our first concert of the 2025 ASCCA Concert Series, and it was an incredible way to start things off! Grady Spencer & The Work have played at ASCCA multiple times in the past, and it’s always a great feeling to welcome returning artists. This band greets our community with open arms and puts on an electric show! We’re lucky to have such strong bonds with bands just like this one.

Saturday, our first full day of camp, began with flag raising and breakfast. The weather was perfect, much like the day itself. Our campers and families had a variety of free-choice activities to enjoy, such as ziplining, archery, arts & crafts, and fishing on boats with our volunteers, and fishing at the pond and boat dock.

They say time flies when you’re having fun, and we couldn’t agree more! Before we knew it, the morning had come to a close, and we were ready to dive into afternoon activities. Campers participated in the big swing, karaoke, shaved ice, and even more fishing!

That night, we wrapped things up with an ASCCA favorite — the talent show! Our campers took the stage and put on unforgettable performances filled with singing, dancing, and so many memorable moments. We firmly believe we have some of the most talented people on this side of Lake Martin.

Though it was inevitable, the close of the weekend is always the hardest. Sunday came in the blink of an eye. Before parting ways, we squeezed in a few more activities: one final fishing trip with our volunteers, the bungee trampoline, boat rides, slingshots, a nature project, and more! We made sure to savor every last minute.

We could not have asked for a better weekend. Any time spent at Camp ASCCA is time well spent. We’re grateful for the campers who have become forever friends, their families, and our dedicated staff. Nothing would be the same without you.

To our volunteers who brought their boats — thank you! Your time and energy are irreplaceable. Thank you for giving our campers this incredible experience. You made the weekend memorable for so many, and your support over the years has meant the world to us.

Though our time together has come to a close, it means we’re one step closer to summer. See you soon, ASCCA friends!
